This was always one of my favourite commercials. An air passenger starts to panic after realizing he’s checked his notebook and it’s rattling around in the cargo hold. I think about this guy every time I’m flying.

This commercial won a well-deserved 1995 Clio Award.

It’s also an interesting look at not only Toronto Pearson Airport Terminal 3, but also what the laptop computer business looked like in 1995. Check out the massive size of his notebook when he picks it up at baggage claim at the end. That thing looks like a tank.

1995 Steve, still working for NeXT, pre-Apple, with his own clunky Toshiba Tecra notebook, would find it hard to believe what 2026 Steve’s MacBook Pro looks like.
